Great experience. The staff is very thoughtful and hospitable. My wife joined me for the weekend after I’d been working in NY for the week. The hotel team remembered that I mentioned our anniversary and they left a congratulatory note and …
We booked a three-night stay at Hotel AKA NoMad. It is located in a quiet section of Midtown, referred to as NoMad. Each time we stay in New York City, we book a different neighborhood, and this one is great. As I noted, it is a quiet area and does not have the hubbub or noise level of other neighborhoods such as Times Square. If you wish to have some peace in New York City, this is a great option.
When we arrived, we were earlier than our reservation check-in time. Our room was not ready, but the reservation staff took our bags and housed them for us so we could begin our first day in New York City.
When you arrive, there are doormen who greet you and are quite cordial. When you walk into this hotel, it is dark and dimly lit, but that adds to the overall modern and posh vibe. We were impressed with the decor and fresh flowers that were out. It is a small space with the reservation desk and a quaint bar on the first floor. You can take a staircase up to a small area that has a breakfast option and other food services throughout the day. We never ate at the hotel as there were many other food options in the city, and we were ready to partake in those instead. However, I did peruse the breakfast area, and it did look quite nice but very a la carte.
The room itself is small, and that is the norm for New York City. The bathroom was particularly small and tricky to manage even with one person in it. But it has been tastefully updated and is quite stylish. Sleeping conditions were great here as there was no outside noise in the hallway or from neighboring rooms. The room was clean, and linens were freshly pressed. Those details are very important to me!
Every member of the staff was courteous and friendly. This is the nicest hotel we have stayed in in New York City by far, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anybody. Just be prepared to pay the New York City price, but this hotel delivers on a personal level as they remembered us each time we walked in through the door after a day of sightseeing.
I have nothing but wonderful things to say about our entire experience with AKA Nomad. From the reservation experience, communication with the staff before arriving the wonderful location located just within walking distance of K-Town or …
We had a lovely stay at the hotel. The rooms were large and very modern. The cleaning was a very high standard. Location was great and pretty quiet at night noise wise at night.||Staff were extremely friendly and always ready to help. Both …
We stayed here as a family of 4 in the Christmas holiday period. We loved the people at the hotel (special mentioning is required for Blake!) and we enjoyed the excellent location. Beds were comfortable. The family rooms we booked were not very spacious but that is to be expected for New York. We found the temperature in the rooms and the breakfast room way too high but apparently there is nothing that can be done about that.
All we need in an NYC hotel. Modern, minimalist room with a great shower. The staff were quick to help us with anything that arose during our stay. The cocktails were first class at the small hotel bar. Doorman Christopher was very helpful …

Great hotel! Rooms are unique! We had a great view of the Empire State Building from our balcony. We went to their bar in the lobby for a late afternoon snack and drink. The expresso martinis are delicious. Food was good. Then coming back late from our night out the overnight doorman and front desk manager were great!! Definitely will stay here again!!!
